Stephen Montoya, DDS
“Dr. Steve,” as he is known by his patients, graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006. Prior to attending dental School, he attended Portland State University. Dr. Steve completed a Pediatric Dental Residency at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Rhode Island. In 2009, Dr Steve became a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. Dr. Steve has been married for 14 years and has 3 children. When he is not working, Dr. Steve can be found spending time with his family, swimming, fishing, golfing or playing sand volleyball. He enjoys volunteering in the community where he visits school and head start classes in the area to teach children proper oral habits.
Charlie Brown, DMD
Dr. Charlie Brown III was born and raised in Mesa and is happy to be seeing families close to home. After completing his bachelors degree in Biology at ASU he attended ATSU in Mesa for dental school. He then sought further education for two years in Tucson, AZ with NYU-Lutheran Medical Center for specialty training in pediatric dentistry. He is currently board eligible and is preparing to become a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. Dr. Brown is happily married to his wife Stephanie who grew up in Tempe. Together they have four children and love outdoor activities (when it’s not 115°), hanging out with cousins, and just about every sport there is.
Dr. Charlie is also a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Arizona Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Randall D. Adams, DMD, MSD
Dr Adams began the private practice of orthodontics in 1987. Recently he sold his Mesa practice and joined our team. After graduation from Coronado High School in Scottsdale, Dr. Adams interrupted his college education to serve a two year church mission in Germany.
Upon returning from Europe, he completed his Bachelor in Science degree at Brigham Young University. Dr Adams went on to graduate with the highest honors at Oregon Health Sciences University and was awarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. For the next four years, Dr. Adams served on active duty as a Naval Dental Officer, repaying a scholarship before returning to the Northwest for graduate school. Dr. Adams completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, and was awarded the Master of Science in Dentistry degree.
Dr. Adams is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists as well as the Arizona Orthodontic Study Group, where he has served for the past 15 years on the board of directors, and as treasurer and president.
Dr Adams resides in Mesa with his wife Shelly. They have five children, and seven grandchildren. Dr Adams is very involved in community and civic service. He remained active as a Naval Reservist for 26 years and after fulfilling his last assignment as a Commanding Officer, he retired from the Navy in 2003. Dr. Adams is a fitness enthusiast favoring running and weight training to stay in shape. He loves all things outdoors, especially hiking and snow skiing. And of course he loves the water. Boating, wakeboarding, surfing, swimming and scuba diving are his favorite summer activities.
Reuben Turner, DDS
Dr. Turner is a board-certified dental anesthesiologist and specializes in the treatment of pediatric patients. His advanced anesthesia training focused on providing hospital and office-based anesthesia for children. Dr. Turner attended Creighton University for dental school and completed his post-doctorate specialty training in anesthesia at the University of California at Los Angeles and MLK/Drew Medical Center. He holds certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Dr. Turner provides our patients with the treatment option of general anesthesia, which allows patients to sleep throughout their appointment and provides the patient with a wonderful dental experience while allowing Dr. Gavin or Dr. Steve to provide better quality of care.
Todd Butler, DDS
Dr. Todd Butler completed dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to this, he received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University, and has gone on to complete a residency program in pediatric dentistry–also at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He is recognized as a specialist in pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Butler lives in Queen Creek with his wife, Michele, and their five children. After many years in Texas, the Butlers are glad to be in Arizona closer to family. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, camping outdoors, or working with his hands on carpentry or other projects.
