Giraffe at the zooLooking for a place to take your kids this month to get them away from the video games? Your Arizona dentist has you covered! There are plenty of activities happening all around the Phoenix area that are both entertaining and educational for both you and your kids. Here are a few of them.

Phoenix Zoo
Join the Phoenix Zoo on Sunday, April 26th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Día del Niño! It’s a celebration of children, animals and culture that includes music, folkloric dancers, games, piñata bashing and other fun activities. Everything is included with regular zoo admission. For more information and tickets, go to phoenixzoo.org.

Children’s Museum
Come make beautiful music with your child at the Children’s Museum when Music Together Presents: Spring “Triangles.”  The program is 10 weeks of singing, dancing, drumming and instrument playing. During the semester, you can learn a number of musical activities that you can create at home each week. The classes are 45 minutes long and include developmentally appropriate activities for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Music comes naturally to all of us, and Music Together classes build on your child’s natural enthusiasm for music and movement. You can even try out the first demo class! Shrek The Musical
Follow everyone’s favorite ogre on an adventure about friendship, embracing uniqueness and love. The show runs from April 10th to May 10th at Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale. This one’s a popular show, so reservations are recommended. For showtimes and reservations, go to desertstages.org.

The Cowgirl Who Became a Justice:Sandra Day O’Connor
This exhibition follows the tale of Justice O’ Connor as she moved from ranch life to becoming a member of the Arizona senate and eventually the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court. The exhibit features photos from her family and public life. The exhibit is available through April at the McClelland Irish Library at the Irish Cultural Center.
