We can’t for Halloween here at Kidtastic – there’s nothing like wearing a fun costume and celebrating among friends. Are you still in the market for kid costumes this 2014? Some of the coolest ideas are actually the do-it-yourself variety. Check it out!
The Spelling Bee
Now this is just downright adorable, a great idea for the little lady in your life. All you need is a black and yellow striped shirt, some black tights and a headband you can use to fashion some makeshift antenna – the rest is where the cuteness comes into play. Place letters and words over the shirt to patent the ‘spelling bee’ – pretty clever, right?
The Friendly Ghost
Another great idea for girls, the friendly ghost is a cinch to put together. Grab any style white shirt and fashion some iron-on patches into a friendly ghost face. The bottom of the costume is all tied together with a similarly white tutu. Your little angel is sure to love this!
The Monopoly Family
This idea is perfect for mom & dad to get in the spirit of things during their little man’s trick-or-treating. Parents can design themselves a simple t-shirt saying ‘GO’ or the infamous jail icon – Uncle Pennybags is the perfect part for baby. Grab his Sunday best and add a top hat, cane and that patented bowtie to complete the look. This is one rich costume idea!
The LEGO Outfit
Do your kids love LEGOs? This is the perfect costume for them, which works great as a pair – sure to please brother & little sister.
Grab a rectangular cardboard box and use spraypaint to coat it – you may need to apply a few coats. Cut out space for arms, legs and the head. Finish the job by fashioning those trademark connecting circles from the leftover cardboard, using a drink lid can help!
