Happy new year! Can you believe it’s 2015 already? Your little ones are growing up so fast! Now that it’s the new year, you may want to talk to your kids about creating a new years resolution for 2015! This is a way for them to develop some life skills without feeling like it’s a chore or punishment.

What areas of life does your child struggle with? Is he or she a couch potato? Not doing well in math class? Having problems with siblings? Whatever the reason, a resolution for 2015 could be a great way to help solve those troublesome problems. Perhaps motivating your children to try out for the soccer team, getting a school tutor, or spending more quality time with a sibling can help push your kids to get the most out of life.

Here are some great new years resolutions for kids in 2015:

  • Make flashcards for things you don’t understandnew years resolutions for kids

  • Keep your back straight, especially when sitting at the computer

  • Read a book each month

  • Try out for the school play, student council, speech and debate, or a sports team

  • Go through your old boxes and give old toys to charity

  • Draw something new everyday

  • Floss everyday so you won’t have to visit your Mesa, Gilbert, or Queen Creek pediatric dentist office

  • Take a class at your local community center

  • Set out clothes each night for the next day

There are plenty of other ways that kids can learn valuable new skills or habits–it doesn’t need to be just for the new year either! Reinforce the idea to your children that they can succeed and encourage them to try new things. If you start taking up new hobbies yourself, it will be easier for your children to watch and learn.
