Hi there Kidtastic kids and adults! We recently had the opportunity to visit CTA Goodman Elementary School to educate some of our younger patients on the benefits of taking care of your teeth. Our very own Dr. Steve and his trusty sidekick, Lisa made sure to let everybody know that dental care is not only important but it can be fun too!
First we showed the students that everybody has to brush their teeth twice a day, looking at you too, mom and dad! This helps get rid of that nasty bacteria that can build up called plaque, yuck! But that’s not the only thing you need to do to make sure you have a happy, healthy smile. That’s right you also need to remember to floss each and every day or else you’re going to have a dental appointment that won’t be so much fun. What’s worse than missing your favorite cartoon on a Saturday morning? Cavities.
Cavities form when plaque builds up on your teeth and gums. This causes little tiny holes to form in your teeth are then filled by your dentist. You want your teeth grow big and strong just like Superman, but to do that you need to keep brushing every day! Here at Kidtastic we have lots of fun activities you can do with your parents to make brushing a blast! Things like singing a song while you clean your teeth or having a cool sticker poster where you record your teeth brushing progress!
