Hocus Pocus
Since its debut in 1993, this beloved Halloween classic has become a staple of the fall season. The story follows a brother and sister who inadvertently stumble upon a coven of sassy and hilarious witches – the laughs ensue from there. Considered one of the better family movies out there, regardless of its Hallow’s Eve connotation.
Ghostbusters
Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd team up to form the legendary Ghostbusters squad – ensuring the greater part of New York City is free from spirits from beyond. This movie packs enough laughs to satisfy the family, but some scenes may be a little too spooky for very young viewers.
Ernest Scared Stupid
Ernest has always had a knack for finding himself in a serious pickle, particularly around Halloween time. In this family romp, the hapless Ernest accidentally unleashes a wild band of trolls that turn a small town’s children into wooden dolls. When Ernest is the last one left, can he turn the tide and set things right? You could certainly ask for a more competent hero!
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Is it a Christmas movie? Is it a Halloween movie? Does it really matter when it’s animated classic? Tim Burton’s cult classic The Nightmare Before Christmas introduced the world to Jack Skellington and subsequently became a phenomenon. The movie explores the holiday bridge between Halloween and Christmas, with plenty of delightful sights and sounds along the way. This is the essential animated Halloween flick!
